Today was our cooking day. Lesley picked us up and drove us to her house in another nearby village. She is from England , but has lived in Italy for 11 years. She had Lisenna helping, who only spoke Italian. We made 4 courses. For our antipasti we made La Ribollita, or Tuscan bean soup. Our first course was gnocchi with a cheese sauce. We added spinach and tomato paste to some of the potato to make them green, red and white. Our second ...

The market was somewhat small, so much so that we were to spot Nana and Poppa as we drove through. There was, we thought, supposed to be a festival celebrating Hannibal's battles with the Romans and his journey over the Alps down by the lake.

Our trip to the lake revealed nothing except for empty marquees. We still have not worked out ...

... side and so I set off along that. Near the end I saw a sign that pointed to an amphitheater so I thought 'why not?' Well, I'll tell you why not; it was impossible to find. I walked up this big hill, following the signs that appeared every now and then, and some how managed to completely bypass the amphitheater and end up where I started. I think it must have been hiding. Still, it was quite a nice walk anyway, and there was a nice view of the hill that the ...
