A very wet day as forecast so very glad we got the long journey out the way yesterday as the sea state looks very choppy today. After a trip to the airport to clear in and become legal we take a hire car and head to Grada. An old town in the flats that we had thought about sailing to but given the weather we thought better to go by road! A tour of Monfalcone followed and we managed to get an Italian sim so we have wifi ...

We arrived after a dry motor all the way and Eric very pleased with choice of boatyard for the winter. Very professional and made to feel very welcome. Sad day as Sallie 1 had to go as she has perished so much we don't think she will blow up again -saggy bottom and edges with age! Now we have a few weeks to explore Italy and Slovenia before heading ...

... a fancy salmon dinner ahead of time, which came with free wine. Some of us were too cheap to spring for $20 extra for airplane food! We all were perfectly satisfied with our fare! :-)

So - we landed in Dublin, had a bit to eat and some much needed coffee . . We met up with Avi at the airport. He has spent a few days in Dublin, photographing lots of interesting people and making some new friends . . Perhaps sampling ...

      Beautiful, colourful surprise - Burano

... it took over 50 minutes. Very pleasant boat ride stopping at Murano and lots of other pretty spots. Once we got to Burano – what a lovely surprise. All the houses are painted in bright colours and every one is different to the next. Bright reds, greens, pink, purples and blues. Additionally, they are all set along canals – it was like being in a magical place. We took loads of photos – especially near ...
