... I think the oldest building I've ever been in - it was built in 30 AD (that's a 2 digit year, not a typo)
Castelvechio was also pretty cool and had some great art inside.
Stopped at Osteria Verona in the main square for some predinner drinks and had some awesome house wine before going to La Taverna Di Via Stella for dinner. Really nice place with friendly staff and great food. Had ...

So we only stopped here for a couple of hours as a rest stop but it was pretty cool.
Verona is a very pretty town that is famous for Juliet Capulet's balcony and the entrance to the balcony is where all the lovey dovey couples write ...
We left Trieste, and set off for Venezia, and to visit some of Dad's friends who had visited Vanuatu a couple of times on sailing trips. Since they have always live on boats, their house was so small and almost looked like living on a boat as well! It was so cute, and very unlike a typical Italian house!! We had lunch there....mmm...moustache fish!! Haha ...
Verona, Veneto, Italy ilovetheworld... that comes to stay uninvited, or have had a very serious looking physcian use the word cancer when he was speaking to you with great eye contact, or had to go to the "Cancer Center," for your medical care this is an extremely anxiety producing thought. Needless to say I tried not to spend too much time thinking about these things. I breathed deeply on the 4 cylinders I have left and went out to greet the day checking in on some of the ...
Vicenza, Italy kitchenshrink... in the hotel we wandered through the local streets (crossing the occasional canal) to the Rialto bridge - an assortment of pastry shops, clothes shops, a harmonica shop, small cafes, etc. We crossed over the Rialto bridge stopping for the obligatory photos and headed through more local streets to St Marks square - the centre of Venice. A lot of the buildings are run down but that still doesn't detract from their impact. As you approach St Marks the ...
Venice, Italy skcoll... be. Seriously though people get all into it.) But it turns out that tourists aren't really supposed to partake which we should have been able to gather as everyone participating was Italian and in a uniform. But unlike our peers they liked us and let us stay in and play in orange goop. People didn't seem to mind as they were more amused than anything else. We felt like celebrities as people took pictures of us (we're checking Italian newspapers ...
Venice/Ivrea, Italy, Italy alikayorrWOW!!! Now, I'm in Europe. Sorry for the such a long pause in the travel blog, but I've been covering a lot of ground and haven't had a chance to write... So, my journey started in Zürich (Switzerland) where my American Airlines flight landed from Dallas. The flight could have been better - the guy I sat next to was a mute and the plane was a bit outdated. I arrived in Zürich around 9:30am, picked up my luggage, and cleared customs. After ...
Venice, Italy beyermatt... of places to spend any excess Euros if you're lucky enough to have some! The only people we encountered doing the hard-sell in Venice were the Gondaliers - had the weather been finer, we'd have considered parting with the 62 Euro (fixed price for 50 minutes) as a special treat, however, no amount of superb singing or piano accordion could lure us into the beautiful boats with wind like ice! Venice is certainly like no other place in the world. There is no doubt that the cost ...
