... our beloved Vinho Verde (Euro 1.39 a bottle) Mmmmm.... It was off to bed, to awake to another wet day. Discussions over breakfast (boiled eggs perfectly done if you please) (Lymºs writing this by the way....Iºm just typing...) led to us both deciding it was time to break camp and head to the Algarve with all haste, we were beginning to believe that the sun was an urban myth...
Vila Praia de Ancora, Northern Portugal, Portugal lymandannabelle... are. The distilleries were surprisingly accessible, with all of them offering tours of the caves and tastings, for a fee of course. We were only able to visit a couple (Porto seems to close for 2 hours during lunch) before catching our evening flight out, but we are glad to have tried some new and very interesting kinds of port. Thank you Portugal, we will be back to see more.

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal europapart123... We arrived safely thanks to these total strangers. He advised us not to take the caravan into Porto.

The next day we went on the bus to Porto and discovered why. The 8 kilometer journey took about an hour as the bus travelled in ever decreasing circles through streets normally impassable to a bus without the use of a horn and the assistance of disgruntled lorry and car drivers who had to backup. On arriving in Porto feeling shaken and stirred we discovered a ...
Porto, Porto, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... without the normal care and as we were going along we suddenly realized that the caravan had become detached. Fortunately the breakaway cable had worked. We reversed and reattached her, no harm having been done. We then had to do a 50 mile detour to get to the camp site. We spoke to other camper and caravaners who had had great ...
Braga, Northern Portugal, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... the better part of an hour looking for any restaurant that was opened. Our meals were : a tuna salad (a can of tuna, unrippened tomatoes and lettuce) and pork (a peice of pork, rice and french fries.) Long story short we were more then enthusiastic to get on the road in the morning to leave Porto behind
Póvoa de Varzim, Porto, Portugal wrkleinGuess this is the wind down point after two months on the road before I headed back to Ye Olde London town which is probably why I haven't much to report. With a little over a week in Portugal I doubt I did the country justice and only touched the surface. I hit the little hostel which was new and a little inexperienced at it as they had quality ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal ddoumani... as the lady held the bill up to the service window, my eyes scanned down the page over some large numbers to the bottom line total that read 6.34, WHAT DEAL!!! 10 cents a minute! Pleased with another frugal Portuguese purchase, I made my way down to the Marrachinho grocery store across the street from the bar strip that leads to the beach and bought some turkey, mustard and what looked and tasted like oranges for lunch. Then meandered down to la praia (the beach) for a beachside ...
Albufeira, Portugal sandramorrowBen here... So since we are so behind on the travelpod and every day we forget more, this is one way of doing it all in one go. So yes this will be a long entry...(Chelise here. If you don't like reading these at least read the Fatima one. I think it is funny) Portugal in general is just like the rest of Europe. It is, though, a bit on the boring side: churches, churches, churches and the occasional beach. Actually many beaches that were jammed packed. So I personally think the pictures ...
