Pack up at gite as we have to leave today. Goodbye to lovely grandparents, Pirette and Serge and the rest of family at Ecole de Saint Roman. We cannot go too far as Patrick has a dentist appointment for a broken tooth later this afternoon. So Aigues-Mortes again, this time to walk the ramparts. When we arrive we are not allowed to take the dogs with us. Too hot to leave them in the car. Nothing is going right! Sulky lunch then off to dentist. Dentist, ...

I drive back after 4 to be told that all ...

... late afternoon swim. Perfect too! I can only use half the gears on my bike so good job it is a flat route. Well, everywhere is flat here. La Petite Carmargue makes Norfolk look hilly. Anthony pops round, the shop has phoned and the parcel with our spare parts has just arrived. Quel surprise! Anthony now known as The Fixer. Don't mess with him! We are finally able to arrange for the repair and service next Wednesday. At ...

... the Cathar connection in a series of detailed tableaux with landscape, buildings and characters modelled out of clay - a painstaking and effective achievement. Helpfully, they have explanations of the different scenes in an English handout. After purchasing a couple of bottles of Minervois (for drinking en-route) from a local wine producer, we made our way back to the car and journeyed home through the Haut Langedoc National ...
