Weekje sneeuw en RELAXEN

Wat een heerlijke week!!

Hij begon wat gehaast en het bezoek aan de SEATdealer (knipperend dashboardlampje); was ook niet echt bepaald gepland..
Onderweg veel werkzaamheden op de duitsesnelweg wat tot de nodige vertraging zorgde maar .. waardoor we ook van mooie herfstkleuren hebben kunnen genieten.
Na 12uur rijden kwamen we in het donker aan in het wel vertrouwde huisje Wengi.

... t open...so we just took a walk along the river. Then decided to head to the train station to inquire about getting on a bus to go see a nearby lake. We got the information about the bus and waited at the bus stop for the no.1 to come. The bus driver asked us where we were wanting to go (because clearly we weren't locals I guess...?) so we told him the lake. Once we had thought we should be getting close I went up to him and asked where ...

... next day we went for a long beautiful, relaxin walk through Interlaken and along the river, we then to the local bus to the lake. We spent the afternoon at the lake, walkin, sittin, relaxin, it was the most peaceful place and time durin my whole trip... I love the mountains and the lake, I miss the safety I feel in nature. I didn't even have that feelin in Africa (probably because an elephant, snake, lion, etc.. could attack, hurt or eat me ...

... mix need reviving. The weather was clear on the main view side and overcast on another. Evidently God didn't feel that the view and revolveing restaurant was good enough for us, so he threw in a couple of snow falls for good measure. Gotta love the guy!

We made a couple/few revolutions, took a few dozen pictures, and started our descent. We decided, at the encouraging of Rick Steves, to stop off at the tiny, and I mean TINY ...

... and another day of biking around the entire city, we set off at midnight to drive on the Autobahn to Bern. So instead of spending the night on a sleeping train, we took turns driving and sleeping (thank you Alex for the wonderful neck pillow!).



We drove into Interlaken around 9, into GORGEOUS views of mountains and lakes (thanks Jess!!). Because we were pooped from almost no sleep, we spent most of the day sleeping ...

... all I got was vague non-convincing answers followed by "you should go paragliding" I walked off saying " I DON'T WANT PARAGLIDING I WANT HANG GLIDING!!!!!" A few minutes walk down the main street and passed numerous para glider desks found myself at a corner that had a desk that looked to be selling mainly Hang Gliding and other activities. ... lle. Later today we would take a trail up into cliff behind the falls. On the opposite side of the valley, we rode a cog-wheel train to the village of Wengen. Like Murren, it is also perched on a bench above the valley. We took an aerial tram to the peak above Wengen, Männlichen, where snow was blowing and much snowpack still visible. An electronic sign showed that our intended hike was closed due to avalanche danger. We ...

... wish I knew how high it was, definitely comparable to the high dive at the pool, except you have to jump of a ledge and hit the narrow pool below, don't mind the giant rocks on either side of the space we were supposed to land. ... found out we were both headed to the falls. Without much said, it ended up that we ventured through the falls together. As we all admired the wonders of waterfalls inside a mountain/glacier, we shared the usual where you go, what's your major. We also shared picture taking of each other, and I made sure to get a photo of all three of us. The falls were definitely a worthwhile choice with the dreary weather. ... Yay! On our last day at our Chalet we headed to town (yes that post office walk again) to go on a horse sleigh ride for an hour with Johanna. It was really nice and the views were fantastic. We had a hot chocky before having a look around the town and church. We then headed back for tea and to get ready to go. We left at 8:30 and it was a bit sad to say goodbye to everyone but we were excited about our next days plans (you will have to read the next entry to find out what they were!). .
