... perfect. There are many Christmas markets doing a roaring trade, my favs were the ones selling punche and local cuisine like bratwurst, sauerkraut and apple strudel. The main market near the river had a Christmas tree made from Swarovski crystals!

Our hotel is beautiful. We are on the 4th floor and look out over the old town and up to the ski slopes. There is a bar downstairs, which has a ...

This evening we were booked into our hotel's restaurant for a glorious 5 course traditional Austrian Christmas feast. We began with fresh bread, a salmon entrée, soup, a dumpling interval, a roast beef meal and a gorgeous dessert. ...

... and many of the attractions are low priced at around €4. I would only recommend the Innsbruck card if you are going to be in Innsbruck for 72 hours or if you want to see the more highly-priced attractions such as the Ski Jump and the Imperial Palace.

There is a lot to see in Innsbruck, but it is also a beautiful city which you can wander around for hours. It's a truly magical place with many hidden wonders and a real charm about it. Well worth a visit!
