... day walking with a picnic up in the mountains. Our legs hadn't quite recovered from yesterday's hike - but once we had warmed up, from the climb straight up from the car park, we were fine. Thankfully we didn't loose the path too much this time - so managed to get the whole walk done in the daylight !! :) - yet another day of amazing views - fab ...

We arrived in Campitello yesterday evening, and woke today to some more fantastic weather for early November. It is about 16-17 degrees with clear blue skies, making the visibility fantastic. This was great as we had been advised to head up into the Duron valley just behind our apartment building and then head over the hills and back to Campitello. Being in a valley I knew I couldn't go in the wrong direction unless I either turned around or was riding up the side of a mountain so I figured if I followed a quieter road I’d eventually be able to find the cycling path. This eventually led me into a small little town with no signs of a path. I saw a guy changing the advertisement at a ...

Le Palue provides a life for only a few people and reminds me of nothing. Seldom a car drives by or a plane flies overhead in the distance. This place is tranquil, inviting, and completely at peace. As the sun sets behind Marmolada, queen of the Dolomites, we are left with another mark of Italy's never-ending splendor. It is very easy to understand how people can spend their lives in such a way.
