      ... the thermals we had brought. The trains have a cog wheel system because the terrain is so steep. Two 5 min stops were made on the way up, inside the tunnel through the Eiger. It's hard to believe that the tunnel was opened in 1912. I can't imagine anyone even thinking of doing it. Eigerwand, at 9400ft, 2865m, was the first.       ... This meant it was very cold where we were staying so Shaun ended up buying a new hoody as he only bought one jumper with him! We also saw snow on our drive out of Switzerland, it was like a winter wonderland there was snow for miles and we got to stop and have a snowball fight etc. We had a blast in Switzerland, Shaun even got a legit Swiss Army knife as a souvenir.       ... the valley to the cable car which took us up the side of the mountain with spectacular views of the mount. After about 30-40min the cable car arrived at the peak of the Schilthorn.
