... minutes we were on our way up! Such a savoir from having to walk up! We got out about 60 percent of the way up and then had to wander up through the remaining part, but the shapes of the cavern were amazing! I think that we were distracted sufficiently from our pain by the shapes that had been carved out over so many years! However this changed.... Suddenly we had to walk down again. Oh the pain! After a bit we both got into the swing of things (or our muscles seemed to stretch out ...

Being my day off work I spent my time hiking up to the town of Wengen, which is around 1, 300 meters above sea level (Lauterbrunnen itself is around 800). Technically they were higher up in the mountains but we ...

... and plenty of light. Tomorrow, weather cooperating, we will hike! The funicular is right behind our chalet which is super convenient. But no matter what, tomorrow will be amazing; not just because we are here in the Alps, but we will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary. I couldn't have been more blessed with my hubby, my best friend, and love of my life. Today I'm grateful, humbled and overwhelmed with a full heart. Oh and I seem to cry ...

... soup, and we all treated ourselves to ice-cold beer on tap. The three of us navigated to Trummelbach Falls via the public bus, where we walked/took an elevator to the top. There was a series of 10 different chutes- and what made this waterfall interesting is that it is inside a mountain. We went up a lot of stairs, and then came down a lot of stairs- but the natural air-conditioning was fantastic! Karen and I enjoyed “glacial facials” (the spray ...
