After arriving in Nüremberg on the Friday night, we had a quick drink in the Irish bar downstairs and then settled into the hotel, named Hotel Victoria. ... often comes across descriptions, in books, of a beautiful girl with eyes the colour of Cornflowers. Seriously, if I came across a girl with eyes this colour, I wouldn't be able to stop staring.
After swimming we carried on to Winkel to spend some time with Corinne's mother before cycling back to camp once more.
... which we took time out to visit. Very old and fortish if I might say.
It was good to see that there are a lot of fish in the Rhine and we saw them swimming in shoals all along the route.
&0 kms later, suffering from sore bums we arrived back in camp for a quick swim and a chicken curry.
All in all a pleasant relaxing ...
... a large swimming lake about a kilometre from the
campsite, and found some shade to relax in. A sign told us the water temperature was 23 degrees, very pleasant. The lake is fantastic with enough space for the hoards that were taking advantage of the weather. It has a huge wooden pirate ship for the kids to jump off and pontoons moored mid lake. It is clearly somewhere to bring the kids after school (just about the time we turned up!). What a great place.
Walter has mapped out today's excursion and Alastair has accepted the job of navigating us. We plan to eventually finish up in Singen, where we will farewell Alastair for a few days, whilst he crosses the channel to London. Alastair has packed efficiently and manages to fit all he requires for the four days in his hand-luggage. We've packed a picnic lunch just in case we find somewhere scenic to stop for lunch.
