... age. They were going in to Geneva for school. I could tell from their accents and manner of speech that they were American, and I eavesdropped to see what I could learn about them. Not much, as it turned out, they were siblings and squabbled and bothered each other about not much of anything.
Switzerland actually has a large expatriate population, including quite a few celebrities who seem to mostly live around Lake Geneva. Taxes are low on the rich, and crime is low, which ...
During our stay in Spa we had the most scary, horrible, unpleasant experience ever in a restaurant.
The restaurant to avoid is "Le Bouchon Gourmand", the owner does not hesitate to insult customers, lock them into the restaurant if there is a dispute on the bill, and claim more money than is due.

After popping into and out of Germany, we were now back in Belgium. It was beginning to get a bit dark, and we still had at least 200 miles left to drive.
Gaz's motor was struggling, and threatening to overheat, so we stopped to let it cool down.
With the vehicles all decorated with stickers, we attracted a bit of attention, and a Belgian couple took our ...
We woke up in Aachen this morning and decided to drive through the back roads to Belgium and pay a visit to Bastonge, were thousands of soldiers as ell as civilians died during WWII's Battle of the Bulge. The only real reminders are a Sherman Tank sitting in the middle of town and and the memorial ...
Bastogne, The Ardennes, Belgium houghtalingI left Aleid in Utrecht, by taking a train to Namur. There is this little detail about riding trains in Europe. Sometimes, the train divides and the front goes one way and the back goes another way. Just pay attention to this next time you're in Europe. I was eventually met at the Namur train station by Stephanie and Olivier, plus Colin (2 1/2) and Eline (6 months). We only had a short drive before arriving at their little eco community they have joined with 10 other ...
Namur, Wallonia, Belgium nancy.chappell We started the day with yet another breakfast of brochens, meats, cheeses, and fresh fruit, a typical European breakfast. I was overjoyed when I was offered a helping of eggs or a boiled egg to break the monotony. Don't get me wrong, the breakfasts have been great, but let’s face it…the same thing every morning for 4 weeks gets tiring.
After breakfast we loaded up the bikes but ...
... was his headquarters in Bastogne. He lived in the basement of a long, red brick building just 2-3 blocks from the center of town. We dedicated the plaque and then had the opportunity to head down to the basement. I will let the few pictures I have tell the story of the basement. Displayed in the basement were 3 rooms, one was decorated as McAuliffe's operation room, the second was communications and the third was to the veterans that have visited there. Mostly original ...

Tattoos of memories

For what it's worth,
it was worth all the while.
It's something unpredictable
but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

... only comes once every hour or two hours so I was lucky with that) but then realized the lady gave me milk chocolate when I asked for dark, and Sonia is fussy and won't eat anything else. Woot, so then I had to go to the supermarket and buy her a block of dark chocolate. Oh well, I thought. When the bus started going in an unfamiliar direction I got off. I asked some roadworkers which way was Leuze (the town where I live) and they said, oh, its a long way in that ...
