Bari is a port town just above the heel of the boot of Italy. We arrived right on schedule (2:20 PM) and took a cab to our next AirBnB in the old city. When I say old I mean old. This little area of the original Bari is a maze of tiny streets and alley ways and dates back hundreds of years. The area is pedestrian only area so we got to haul all our luggage ...

The flight home was rather bumpy and Gatwick 10 degrees colder than Bari and we had a bad tempered taxi driver from the airport, but felt better after one of Wally's bacon sandwiches.

... to leave a gap, fill it with something, suitcases come in very handy. The plan was to go to Bari Centralle stazione drop off our bags and then walk back into town to the Bari Vecchia, the old part near where we had come in. I have a good friend Antonella who lives in Bari and I had hoped she would have been up for meeting us and showing us around her city but she is currently in London so that alas that wasn't going to happen, but she did give me some tips ...
