Friday 30th October

On the ship until 2.30 when we left by tender for the short service to Mykonos, one of Greece's most popular tourist islands. ... 447 chapels in Mykonos, population of 3500, 3 or 4 priests. The priests are called upon to celebrate "Name Day" at the persons selected chapel. Name day is more important than your birthday, you invite guests to the chapel and serve wine and food, which are the gifts which they bring, or you take them out to your own home. Name days are to be remembered and taken seriously. If you forget someone's name day you will not be spoken to again!

... and this goes to neutering the cats and looking after them. Unlike Mykonos it seems people live on this Island all year round. There are stores, like books shops and places to buy cooking utensils that we just didn't see on Mykonos. We even found a school. There isn't much to do, but I like Paros more than Mykonos. It isn't as busy and the locals are nicer.

... with a walk along the beach and over another cliff top walk in the opposite direction to yesterday. It was a nice day today... No wind and sunny, about 21C, I think, so it was perfect for strolling along. I passed several beaches - Greek and I'm guessing European beaches tend to supply or hire out sun lounges which have umbrellas.
