    ... of the room trying to capture a good picture of the ceiling fresco. It is hard to get a good picture of those ceiling frescoes….can't imagine having to paint them! There was no question about the wealth and position demonstrated in this museum residence. The Veneitian elite lived well and lived large!

    ... the Rialto Bridge, or any of the larger shopping thoroughfares - but step two metres of the beaten track and suddenly (and it is sudden!) all is quiet and tranquil. We spent the day letting Bronte lead us where she liked through the back alleys. Got lost and found repeatedly but had fun doing it and mostly avoided the crowds.     ... or camminare a solo! What ended up happening is that I tried to find the tour with my school and got hopelessly lost and ended up wandering around on my own.     ... spring for a ride since we missed doing it when we were here in 2001 with JB. I thoroughly enjoyed & Jim can relax now having more than made up for his mistake years ago.

    On board we spent the rest of the afternoonwith the kids as the Mariner set sail for Ravenna, Italy . Later we joined the kids for delicious dinner. We had to go to bed shortly thereafter-- it had been a long day.

    ... at Ristorante Quadri was good. It was well seasoned, creative, flavorful, and very pretty to look at (see the pictures attached).
