... Bis dahin hatten wir den Boden für die Torte gebacken, den Kartoffelsalat eigentlich fast fertig und die Maultaschen fast fertig. Am Samstag dann der Endspurt. Drei Stunden vor der großen Präsentation haben wir uns getroffen. Der Kartoffelsalat bekam den letzten Schliff, die Maultaschen wurden lecker angebraten und dann kam die Torte. For the 3rd city of Norway it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, so enjoyed walking around the streets and shops and cathedral and museums, as we're heading out on the overnight train again up through the arctic circle into Bodo. Really excited to be leaving the towns behind and see how we make it up in the arctic wilderness (well almost!)

Jetzt mal wieder ein paar Neuigkeiten von mir aus dem Norden. Die Sonne scheint hier immernoch und kitzelt mich in der Nase. So gegen 23 Uhr wird es dann langsam dunkel. Das ist eigentlich ziemlich doof, weil man nicht mit bekommt wie die Zeit vergeht und ploetzlich ist es halb zwoelf und man muss morgens wieder frueh raus. It's the most beautiful country I have ever visited (that's the scenery and the locals folks ;) ) and have already started scouring the web for 'Learn Norwegian in 24hrs' courses and www.nordicbrides.com in anticipation of my immigration there. Thanks to Craig and Trine for spoiling me and making every other country a mild disappointment when compared to your place!

... do. Not too crazy like you see often in America, but they do tend to create a warm atmosphere in their houses. Especially because it's constantly freezing outside... The decoration here is the very standard: a tree with lights and balls, candles and a lot of red. The symbolism in all that is almost scary. But I'm not a real party pooper. I did go to church, I did contribute to Christmas Eve by buying some pie and I did attend a Christmas party. How was your Christmas?
