... land as a defence against a barbarian invasion. The narrow lands we went along are only water lanes so not accessible by foot. It was worth doing. Dinner took us to a place in a nearby square that had been recommended by our hotel concierge. L'Opera. It didn't have a view and we ate inside but all else was spot on. A superb meal, two courses, some complimentary or not alcohol - maybe not - as the meal cost 122 euro including the tip that Craig gave our ...

... to St.Peter's Square after touring the Peggy Gugenheim museum which is right on the Grand Canal at her villa. The art work was disappointing but the canal view wonderful. So now for our full day in ...

Being as confused as we were and of course it's the middle of the night we grabbed our things and got on the bus. We rode the bus for an hour until it ...

... deeply observe the incredible detail of a Roman architecture or to admire the sheer size of some of the structures in Europe is truly breathtaking. Photos never do them justice. Anyway, I’ll stop my rant. Once I got back, much to my amusement, I found out that the girls had not left the tent the entire day! Clearly, the shena****ns from the night before affected them a lot more than me! We eventually headed to the restaurant at the campsite, tucked in to a meal ...

    24 hours in Venice

We arrived in Venice late on Friday night, we caught a 'bus' which is a boat down the Grand Canal. It was really cool, getting a night view of Venice & looking down the canals as we went.

We arrived at our accommodation, after checking in, he asked us if we had sheets (it was a hotel, we expected sheets to be part of the package). After letting him know we didn't he told us it was a €5 charge per person for sheets. We told him we would pay ...
