    ... luggage case each. Poor Matt had to cope with all the steps at the front of the station though – up them three times with a heavy suitcase each time.

    We found a direct train to Pisa San Rossore leaving in about and hour and began the painful process of using the lift to get down to the between-platform subway and then back up again.

    ... can see the ocean from the train. The train service runs specially for the Cinque Terre and also runs frequently so you don't have to wait long. Best thing we did really. We started our day in Monterosso and thought we would work our way back from there to La Spezia. The train ride to Monterosso didn't take very long at all, and the walk from the station is very close to the beach as are all the towns except for Corniglia...take the bus ...

    ... doesn't do it justice. They bake it in a stone oven, and the pan they make it in is a little more than a meter wide. When they pull it out of the oven, it is bright yellow with crispy browning on top. As we saw the massive dish come out of the oven, we didn't quite know how to go about ordering...

    ... make eye contact they surround you trying to sell things...but it can be quite unnerving when one is soon followed by two or three of them especially if you look like an easy target. Another attraction to be aware of are the human statues...if you take a photo they expect payment and if you walk away they'll run after you!!
