After an early morning swim in the pool and breakfast on the terrace, we said our farewells to Mark and Debs and hit the road. Chris took us part way up yesterday's cycle route to a fabulous viewpoint of lake Como and then onto the Ghisallo Di Madonna. ... sad. The gear cable is fraying, the paintwork is all chipped and scratched, the handlebars are rusting and there is a hole in my
saddle. I think it is time for a new one but after doing a bit of research on
the internet, I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the different styles and the prices.

... looking the lake and back down, and down and round and down!!!!! Taking in stunning views, a walk to a hermitage retreat and monestery and a beautiful Romanesque church. Spent the afternoon in the garden, Al Lago before our final dinner in the hotel. Tomorrow, we head off after breakfast , quick stop off in the town of Salo at the bottom of the lake before returning our trusty Italian stallion hire car ( or similar ) and flight home. Now seems as good a time as any to reveal that ...
... and lots of traffic were totally ignored once I flicked the lever to Manual and used the paddle shifters to encourage to horses to get their act together! The next minutes flew past so damn quickly as I was told to "use the gas" by my guide and gave the beast some stick! For a rev head like me, it was total bliss listening to the screaming V8 and using the instantaneous shifters to up and down the 7 speeds!
