Today we spent most of the day traveling or waiting to travel! We took a train from La Spezia to Florence and then another from Florence to Venice. After arriving and finally figuring out the water bus (vaporetti) system, we took a ride down the grand canal to the Rialto Bridge. It was so beautiful! After getting off the water bus, ...

All that information, knowledge and potential for learning about stuff. This one did not disappoint. There is an English section but most of it is in Italian. The highlight isn't the material on offer, it's the concept of the shop itself. Most bookshops, while neat and tidy and easy to navigate, are sterile and lack any ...

... the prices are extraordinary, a man at the bar last night ordered a brandy and a bar and they charged him 72 euro (about $100 AUD) so we went to bed!!
Last night we saw the Barber of Saville which was great, set in an old palace in 3 rooms and the audience of about 80 were part of the action!
We are just pulling into Bologna station so about 40 more minutes to Florence.
    Till next time ...
