... lo and behold, we were in the tiny village of Skalni Mlyn, full of hundreds of day trippers out to visit the nearby famous Punkva caves, and eat ice cream!! These caves are part of the Moravian Karst (limestone) system in the Central Czech Republic, a large heritage protected area. ... by the way is 4****. Nice renovated buildings, a huge town square and non-alcoholic beer, which we had to have as thirsty travellers. We had seen the scallop shell of St James Way back in Mikulov and lo & behold, it turned up again here in Brno and at St James Church. ... meals. We finished up with a local red wine which was also 1st class, equal of a $30 red back home! This hotel is relatively new and quite flash, our bedroom is huge by normal standards. They all speak English, to some degree, but with a helluva accent which is hard to understand not like Hungary where there language makes understanding their English so much easier. Headed cross country; its about 10 C and the cold is an issue. Also just dodging rain showers so a couple of stops at petrol stations / bus stops ( which are particularly well built here with enclosed seating.
