Later we moved down beside the lake, sitting on a flat rock to wait for sunset. When it came, we couldn't have been more thrilled! The clouds on top of the Matterhorn moved off, lit from behind with a glorious golden light that added a flair of drama and beauty to the scene. Click,click,click went our cameras as we joyfully captured the magnificence of the place and of the evening.

6th September. The sun is still shining and warm. We have arrived not far from the snow topped mountain of Mont Blanc at a campsite called 'Les Domes de Miage' where jeans were changed to shorts and we sat outside in the sun, the day is perfect. We can see Mountains capped with snow around us but not sure if any is the Mont Blanc from where we are but we had an awesome look at it on our drive here. Making our way here, having arranged a reservation from our last town, we were told we would be sharing a room so were VERY pleasantly surprised when we went to our assigned room number 10 and found only two single beds. Between them is a small window that opens so we can see -- if the clouds cooperate-- the entire valley below and, if we look right, the peaks of the mountains above us.
