We later walked through the narrow streets up and down the hill and soaked up the atmosphere. And we ended up near a Roman temple that was well -preserved.
Pula made a nice day visit and we're glad we did it that way. It's a larger city with a lot going on, but we are enjoying our quiet fishing village up the coast.

Tomorrow, we have a travel day. We set out at 4:40 am and will transfer buses at Rijeka. From there we will go to Zadar, another lovely city down the Dalmatian coast. We plan on spending a couple of weeks exploring this coast. It's time to slow it down a bit and enjoy the guilty pleasure of global warming's effects. The weather should be in the 10 -15 C range (50 - 60 F).
In the afternoon we walked around past the fishing boats and the men were fixing the nets, cutting and mending, and getting the nets ready to drop for the next day.
Walked around the the foreshore for a few kilometres and saw a huge sailing ship which had come in. There are a lot of private yachts calling in each night and mooring. A friend of David's from NZ has just been sailing down the Dalmation coast.

We walked around the two small islands which are joined. Not a lot of people around - mainly just sitting around the huge pool at the resort!
... town. The tour in the outdoor portion of the Amphitheatre was somewhat relaxed, however the underground portion was absolutely packed with large tour groups (probably from nearby cruise ships), and I was glad to get out of there.
The tour ended at a large Roman arch and after that we were free for lunch. Several of us wandered over to the outdoor market, and there was an upstairs restaurant there, so we stopped for a meal. I ...
