Mar del Plata, Argentina pamericas... but mostly in the summer months from November through February. I moved here from Cordoba thinking it would be quieter than either of the cities I lived and worked in, but it has much night life and the appearance of a city like Ipanema, where the beaches face the tall hotels and buildings of the city.

Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina juanita16... to go to the hostel, and for the first time in my life I took a ride in a Peugeot 504! More than 20 years ago the Argentinian taxi companies started building fleets of those, which are obviously indestructible given the numbers still on the road, with insane mileages... This model's been produced in Argentina until 2000, years after the end of the European production. Anyway it's funny to take a ride in one of those old indestructible cars. :) After ...

Mar Del Plata, Capital Federal District, Argentina logbDon´t even think about coming to a nice and sandy beach when you come to Mar Del Plata before mid January. I would say you can expect a desert full of unbrellas with noon on the beach. But the beach walk is nice and amazing view. Make sure to check out the seals on the port where the wreck ships are. They definitely worth the visit. Also try any of the ...
Mar Del Plata, Argentina canadiansmiley... friended a couple of other English guys, Chris & Graham, and then another terribly English type arrived on the sofa too, "Binx" (I don´t know what his real name is. If I also tell you he went to Bristol uni and plays rugby you get the general impression.) All-round damn good chaps. I think this was the first time I had hung out with an English-only crowd. The hostel telly had colour issues, was totally green - we decided to find a bar to watch ...
Mar del Plata, Central Argentina, Argentina johnsa32... much of a hurry, we just stuck around until it got sunny again. There is a big sea lion colony in the port that we walked about 3 hours to see, but we could only bear to watch them for about 5 minutes because they smelled so incredibly horrible. Seriously, I´ve never smelled anything like it. It was mostly males. Some of them were gigantic and really grouchy and baring their huge teeth and barking at one ...
Mar Del Plata, Argentina thelepkisAnother 7 hours on a bus at the crack of dawn got us to Mar del Plata. The town is supposed to be haven for porteños looking to get away from the big smoke, so we didn't have very high expectations. We walked along the coast for a bit with the idea of relaxing on the beach but it was far too windy, a fact that didn't seem to ...
