... not fighting the cars for space. There are lots of arts and craft vendors selling all types of items but nothing that is making me open up my wallet and surrender my euro's. To figure out the euro to dollar exchange rate just divide the price in half and add it to the price so EUR20 is really USD30 more or less. No wonder I’m not wanting to buy anything, imagine going to any store with a 50% increase sale!

I’m currently in a café&#8217 ...

chillin' in the mountains.....

... true. we spent all of the time in Normandy at WWII sites, as well as seeing the tapestry of Bayeux. We saw the cathedral in Nantes, took the river tour in Bordeaux, etc....so just because i focus on food and wine, does not mean the sightseeing isn't happening as well...

so as for the sightseeing today in Sahorre, we had a very nice tour of the cave (aka local wine shop) where you can get a liter of wine ...

Wait...it keeps getting more beautiful!

... Sea just peaked out! The sun was glittering on it, as well as all the white houses with red roofs (and one with eggs). We walked from Portlligat to Cadaques, another beautiful little coast village. (On the walk over I was talking to some girls who are also unbelievably excited for New Moon. Like I said, it's the small things that lead to happiness!)

In Cadaques I watched the big waves surge above the walkway and ate Crema Catalunya gelatto ...

The End is in Sight Literally

... 2 English gents Les and Terry, who don't know when to say no to another glass of vino (my kind of people) and are both hoping to complete the GR10 next year. My french has continued to improve and Ridley is as overweight as ever (Ridley the Rucksack, size of a small child, therefore is deserving of a name). I bought a new tent from Decathlon in Montpellier (similar to the Terra Nova tissue returned to Cotswolds, but 5 times cheaper) and I've ...

Dalí's Imaginary World

We made it! 1327 km in ONE day! And we started late... Must say that I got fed up with Italian highway at Genoa and arriving in France was a real relief...

Driving through France was fun. We saw a space ship in a distance - some strange lights up in the sky, blinking at us at an oval shape... After doing some hard thinking we figured out they ...

... town is on a hill with windy, narrow streets. It is filled with small cafes. I go to one that has tables just below a monument that is lit. Menu is in Catalan. Some similarity to Spanish but different enough that I only catch a few words. In some places, I have found that on a buildings, they will have both Spanish and Catalan. I think my waiter gives up on me. It is 30 minutes before someone takes my order (not my waiter). No apologies.

Day 23- France. Done.

65 miles

Cycling toward the Pyrenees with flip flops and an orange in my front basket which is quite loosely attatched to my failing 25 year old bike I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. What a ridiculous task. Fortunately, the road we were on turned out to cut through the mountains and it was a ...

Ryan Air

In order to get to get to Malta without paying an arm and a leg or having to fly for 10 hours or more via Italy we decided to take RyanAir out of Girona. Girona is a small regional airport near the beach resort of Girona which is could be called a RyanAir airport. There are many flights out of here and almost all of them with RyanAir. Our plane left at 6:40 am in the morning so so that ...

Ohhhhh spain!

... Spanish sun we changed our minds, since the bus station didn't have lockers we walked about 5blocks trying to find a hotel that would let us store our bags. We walked into Peninsula Hotel, which isn't your run of the mill place and surprisingly, they showed us a place to hide our bags away. We were in the dead center of the city and after we crossed the water we started to explore the "old city." It was perfect... cute streets, shaded by trees with cafes everywhere... we ...

Tapas and Blue Skies

... had had really ****** weather too and sky was an incredible cloudless blue. It was great to get some sun! Even had to break out the sunscreen! There were some fantastic little boutiques with lovely clothes and other interesting shops. Loads of bars. But it was siesta and they were all closed. We found a tapas place on the river and got some food. Great coffee. We went to pick Z up from the airport and went back into Girona ...
