... that we learned about was a street light (not a signal light) that was bike activated. This could be an intruguing idea for the Community Path, but I would still like to see some bollards, planters or bumpouts. They are putting in a raised crosswalk, but it does little to create a feeling of safety for the pedestrians, it only seems to address the attention o fthe drivers.

I'm having such a great time biking around and feeling safe next to large trucks and buses. I woke up late but had enough time for breakfast. We had a very fascinating series of lectures at 9am at Scan Design, a NGO for regional planning. We learned so many cool things, including how in bike-car accidents, it is ALWAYS the cars fault because they need to act as if they are constantly surrounded by cars.
