Accommodation

Hotel La Siesta, Acuna No. 9, Tel: (01 842) 422-0374. Their current rates were 300 + 400 peso for 1 or 2 persons. The small, en-suite rooms come with cable TV but are a little overpriced for what's on offer.
Parras De La Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico amazingjourneys... her father and friend Liliana. I was confused going in because Lili made it sound like it was not a graduation ceremony but rather an event to honor the completion of degrees, but i think it was a graduation. It was similar in many ways but also different in some, I liked the things that were different and kindof wish we could adopt some of them. The set up was similar: a gym and stage with flowers and teachers in robes and colors seated upon it. There ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... to blow my nose the more i realized i was not. We stopped on the way home to pick up some medicine which helped a lot and after a short time chatting with lili and her dad i headed up to take a nap. After my nap i got on the computer and after some searching figured out how to watch "Kid Nation" and "Survivor" on the internet. It was really nice to be distracted from everything ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... something like Encore! Encore! or More, More! and not only did he come back but he continued to sing for a long time after, really until most poeple had stopped asking for more. But even before that it was very clear that this was a very kind man and his fans were very important to him, as he was singing he would go around and shake hands and give kisses on the cheek and accept gifts of stuffed animals or flowers, he even brought a few poeple on stage ...
Tlaxcala, Mexico kimbutterfly15... of the hallways that have been excavated. i say small in relation to the size of the thing, it was a good distance but tiny comparativly. We walked all on the same level as we entered at ground level. We looked down many hallways that were gated off and also many, some quite large, staircases that went both up and down and lead to more hallways or rooms. One went up farther than we could see, it faded into the darkness like it ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... lost. In the bus on the way to the safari (before i knew how nice the bus driver and guide would be) i was a little nervous but also excited by the opportunity to show (hpoeully) that i could make it, atleast in this simple situation, on my own. I think this excitement was mostly for proving it to myself more than anyone else. I was also nervous at what poeple back home would feel about me going out alone...i figure they may be even more stressed about it ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... started with Paco waking me up around 11 am to let me know Lili was sick and would be spending the day in bed in hopes to be better sooner. He told me he was sorry that she was sick and that he was sorry also because he had many things to do for work and school and could not hang out with me in her place. He would have if he could but since he could not he asked me if there was any where i wanted to go or see, he would be happy to take me there and pick me back up whenever i ...
Puebla, Mexico kimbutterfly15... the state. From there we went to the Cathedral of Santiago. This was started in 1745 and it dominates the rather impressive plaza. The entrance portal is covered in "Churrigueresque figures and elaborately carved columns of pale grey stone. It is reputedly one of the finest in Mexico. Inside the transepts are full of gilt ornamentation and at the very top of the dome you can just make out a human figure looking down the aisle ...
Saltillo, Mexico mikeandmary... traveled a lot, had friends everywhere, talked to strangers without hesitance. He just loved to talk. I know some people just like the sound of their own voices. This guy thought his was a damn symphony. Plus I had begun to notice that he smelled a little funny. Like a mixture of old milk and baby powder. But it was a free ride (which he kept reminding me of) so I couldn't be too annoyed. I was a bit put off that he seemed to make an extra effort to ...
Saltillo, Mexico dane... we had enough time to complete the assignment, so I had some time to visit a small but nice desert museum and check out the city center. Saltillo is a relatively compact city, it turned out to be more of a US style than I had earlier expected. It seemed to be well industrialized and has a picturesque yet small center. There was also ...
