... to Shinjuku. Luckily, this is when things started being more positive. Shinjuku is one big confusing mess of streets and has arcades, pachinko (gambling) and shops all over the place! It's not what I expected walking around - shops generally seem small and aren't crazy, geeky or weird from the outside. ... br> I did find the train station and charged my train card, maybe tomorrow I will get a little braver and take a train ride somewhere. The cool thing about finding the train station is I found all the shops inside the station! The other side of the station produced even more shops in every direction and I was unsure where to start! I have never seen so many stores ...

... much but I was very restrained, it was full of traditional Japanese wear and the odd Chinese thing!! I did buy a little Japanese purse, very cute with brightly coloured flowers on it. We also saw the Sensoji Temple which is the oldest temple in Tokyo, built in 628. We made our offering along with the locals. We tried a few local delicacies; deep fried mochi; custard, cherry and green tea flavours. The local rice biscuits were tasty too.
