... foot bath in the park. Our hotel is located south of Shimoda and to get there the GPS tells us to take a narrow, winding uphill road, we end up in a beautiful location on a hilltop overlooking the ocean and several small islands. The vegetation is very lush and tropical, there are many palm trees and tropical plants. The staff at the registration desk of the Shimoda Tokyu Hotel does its very best to speak English. The ...

After meeting our diving instructors at Shinjuku station, we drove down to our spot. The route, on a clear day, is stunning by the way. We had a fantastic view of the spectacular Fuji-san which dominates.
Arriving at the Toi bay, we spent the ...

Mt Fuji

... back here again. On the other side we didn't go up the cable car because I'm not great on heights so after a picnic sitting at the other end of the lake we got the boat back again. However I was really pleased with our decision that we'd seen enough of Tokyo in a single day and we should come out and try and see Mount Fuji. We'd been on a Shinkansen, a local bus for an hour past picturesque scenery and had a boat cruise on a lake and seen Mt Fuji apparently floating above ...
