After leaving Tokyo to visit Yokohama, we returned to visit some more of the capital`s central sites. This time we headed right for the middle, arriving at Tokyo station. This year is the red-brick station`s hundred-year birthday, and it stands out as slightly older in a plaza surrounded by enormous skyscrapers. We picked our way along streets of Maranouchi between the enormous buildings towards the park at the city centre, where the Imperial palace lies. Unfortunately access into ...

Since it was only 2 small bits of text i decided to help him and after thanking me he offered to get me a beer, something i obviously could not refuse. We talked some more and right after he left, Evelyn joined me for some more beertasting. She had been doing about the same thing as me that day, which is practically nothing. The hostel was giving out free ...

... actual bullettrains that have been in use on the Shinkansen. It was not only possible to view them from the outside but also enter them and view the inner workings of each train. Pretty awesome if you ask me. :-) There were also several simulators in which you could learn how to ride a bullettrain and i was really anxious to try it. But since there are so many people wanting to try and only a few simulators you have to be lucky that your ticket gets picked out of the raffle ...
