... went to a pub. I ordered a Berliner Weisser - a beer that is sweetened with fruit flavour & served with a straw. I enjoyed this much more than a regular beer, which is, of course, what Jared had. I had read about the curry wurst, so I went for it. The least successful dish paired scallops & corned beef - not my favorite, a little too outside the box putting seafood & meat together. The family moved across the river when Mozart was 17 years old, and the background music playing as we walked around that residence was a combination of his symphonies, waltzes and sonatas. Lunch was at Cafe Tomaselli, and as you see in the picture, there is little evidence that remains of the decadently-rich Sachertorte ...

... town. We were looking for the Nonnberg Abbey but couldn't see it for looking. In the end we went up the funicular cable car to the fortress, as this was on the wish list anyway.
Austria is just as dog friendly as other parts of Europe and we saw lots of dogs today. As we waited at the bus stop a man walked by with a wee chihuahua in a shopping bag. At the fortress there was a beagle who was wandering in and out quite unconcerned about the large number of ...
