More exciting stuff

... our GPS get its bearings we headed to Brugge.

Arriving late in the afternoon we checked in at the Ibis (not the best hotel, but it was cheap considering the cost of other hotels). This hotel is located right in the centre of the old town.

Brugge is a step back in time. The old cobbled stone roads, the horse and carts, and the pretty old buildings. The main form of transport in Brugge ...

Beersteins and Feral Antics

Short entry this time....

Only here for one night. Got to the hotel saw a couple of shops with beersteins, birkenstocks and clocks. Had dinner and watched some feral women proceed to get ****** and act like idiots in the hotel bar. Some good news though, won 30 euro on the slot machine in the hotel.

One of the guys (we assume it was a guy) even peed in the hotel hallway and our Tour Manager had to clean it up. People can be such animals.

Mommy time!

... for supper and I was a brand new red head! Yay!
My Mom led us to a delicious Thai restaurant where we chowed down on way to much food. I only ordered entrees and I was stuffed and boy were those good tempura veggies! After a nice walk home to work off all the food we said our goodnights and went to our rooms. Luckily my mom’s flight was only at noon the next day so we were able to get up and give her some hugs and kisses goodbye ...

Drinking and Going Bad

... settled, we headed out for dinner. I had that magical travel experience where you discover a brand new culinary deight. Get this- neuer wine, or new wine. This stuff is aged for *1* short week, then served in pint glasses. It tastes like Mike's **********ade. Me likey.

This morning we set off northbound up the wine road, or Weinstrasse. Here is what you do- you drive to a teeny German wine village, park outside a vinter's ...

Hey Geezer- That's OffenBURG, not Off-my-bag

... I got on the train, put away my luggage, and caught some more z's. I momentarily considered that it might not be safe to leave my luggage where it was, but then thought- "Come on, who is going to want my big, bulky bags?" Besides, I was largely surrounded by a combination of older people on tours and families. Not the thug types one sometimes finds on public transportation.

I woke up after a couple of hours and decided to go ...

Europe at last!

apprehensive of the next 6 hours of our trip—particularly about the 17 minute
layover in Nurnberg, Germany. Yikes!
To pass the time, we are sipping on our $3.50 bottle of water and musing over the fact that beer is cheaper than water here. We both are feeling overwhelmed and I don’t think

In the 1970s, the last of the Prince's relatives decided the ongoing maintenance was too much, and put it up for sale. Although there was a bid by the Hare Krishnas, who wanted to use it as a temple, the Duchess eventually accepted a much lower bid ($132,000) from an Austrian opera singer and his wife, who spent the next ...

... future would hold (10 hours in a plane, impossible flight connections and sprinting through customs in Philadelphia, or even more tourist beaches in Italy and 16 hour trainrides to Paris cause RyanAir sucks), but that farewell was a very rewarding moment for all of us, hoping it meant that we would all get together one day for a few more packed stadiums and sandy beaches. Auf Wiedersehen, baby!
