    This was a visiting day: we saw some of Monika's relatives. Later in the afternoon we drove about 125 miles to her home town of Chocen to stay with her parents until Sunday. The weather keeps getting hotter and the forecast is hotter still!

    ... asked where we were from, my mother said "Newark, Lincolnshire". Her face was confusion until we added "England" to this and then she smiled with recognition. I think she probably recognised our English accents, not our Lincolnshire ones!

    The restored mill was actually interesting and the climb to the tower with a view of sleeping bats in the belfry was unusual. They had set up CCTV so we could watch them move and flit their wings. Their focus as artists was on old fashioned ink printing and the ground floor of the mill was dedicated to their studio.
