      We had made it to Venice and immediately I felt a little more comfortable with signs and language being somewhat familiar.       ... anything that I thought I could do cheaper by myself. Sadly, gondola ride wasn't one of them. Could have paid 25 euro for the group ride, but by myself it would have been at least 50. So if I was with a couple of people it would have been cheaper without the big group, but everyone else was smart enough to go with the group one.
