This is a great hotel. Nice staff, nice colorful rooms, and the location is perfect - about halfway between the train station and town hall. The breakfast was amazing - like the American girls on tv say it. Not bacon & eggs, but huge selection of Italian pastries, coffee, cerials, breads...and Italian pastries. It's one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and deserves all of it's 3 stars.

There is no view because it's in the city center and there is only a small shower - no bathtub. This didn't bother us...just for your information

... come to fruition, or if people have a miraculous escape from a life-threatening situation, they 'thank' our Lady with a small offering (see pics). It is truly inspiring.
Onward we drive on the a4 and the a13 to Bologna. Lunch was on the autostrada - a meal deal like the golden arches but with pizza. The view from the car is flat -land, not very pretty - no animals and no crops. Our only purpose in coming here is to see the Ducati factory and museum, so ...

... Later, however, we fill a Fiat car to the roof with vast green and yellow pumpkins, while one of the four children of the farm stares on in almost as much amazement as we do. Honey stocks will last through winter and beyond, and the weekly baking of bread and pizza in their traditional wood oven leaves both houses with a plentiful supply. There is no comfortable medium here – everything is in flux, nothing guaranteed.

Bologna (Rosso?)

... Rosso has been somehow reinvented by the carving-out of a particular identity that is increasingly entwined with a range of transnational networks of capital.

Pondering this fact over an incredible ice cream from the quintessentially Bolognese (and constantly packed) Sorbetteria ice cream shop in the old city, this reinvention seems a long way away. However, a group of stylish, alternative-looking Bolognese in their late teens exit the shop deep in ...

The cultural flavor of Bologna

After saying goodbye to Hungary I hopped on a quick flight to Milan. I am sure Milan has it's own beauty, but since I am not planning on doing any shopping and that is what Milan is well known for, I decided to skip this city and move on to Bologna. Bologna is a central jumping off point for many other areas of the country so it was a strategic positioning but also, Bologna is known for good food so of course it was calling my name. I found my ...
