... Each street a little more quaint than the next.
My favorite part in our shopping and wandering had to have been the leather shops. The smell emanating from their open doors beckoned me in. And what I found will no doubt bring me back to the town again. Everything (bags, wallets, belts, etc.) that is being sold in each shop was made right there by the owner. The bus trip from Siena to Chuisi was unexpectedly beautiful as we travelled the back roads passing many Tuscan hill towns. We saw cyclists too - maybe next time! We then had a short train ride to lower Orvieto where we took the Finicular rail to the hill top Orvieto (1000 ft). Unfortunately my Italian is not as good as I would ...

Got to the main square St Mark's square and went to see a lace demonstration....... it was actually quite interesting! One of the pieces took 7 people and 8 months to ...

I'm not sure if it was because it was a special day (all the museums were free) or if it is usually like this on a Saturday...but it was awful. It really took away from any enjoyment of sightseeing. I can't imagine what it would be like in prime tourist season. We went to St Peters square first, but the crowds and lineups to get into the basilica were so long that we decided not to try to get ...
