... monuments, ect. Bruges has to be the most beautiful city I've seen so far. Huge cathedrals and orange rooftops dot the horizon, people saunter slowly down narrow cobblestone streets, cozy, centuries-old edifices house chocolate shops and lace stores. I'd be surprised if there were a more perfect, stereotypical, peaceful, cozy little european town anywhere else on the continent.

... to see more of the city. Little streets that no one would ever notice on a map were some of the most beautiful. It seemed as if every quaint street ended at this breathtaking canal with even more lovely homes lining its banks. We thought we had died and gone to heaven.

Thanks to one of Vicky's co-workers (thanks Todd!) we made a short stop in Brugge. We very much enjoyed the architecture of the buildings, which is much more baroque than what we have back home. I remember visiting Paris a number of years ago. Rushing around, gobbling up landmarks like a photo hungry Pac-Man, one of the most memorable parts of that trip happened to be the hour or so I spent sat on a quaint backstreet drinking a glass of red staring at one of the Eiffel Tower’s legs in the distance.
