... me to a seat in a synthetically-lit carriage opposite a guy with no concept of personal space. 7 hours of this won't do! Thankfully the carriage attendent is willing to persevere on my behalf and half an hour (and £7) later I am 'upgraded' to a couchette for the journey to Warsaw. The couchette is hard, narrow and cramped. And I am very glad for it! Journey Phase 19.6 A(iii) is almost ...

It has been over two years since the last visit to Poland and it is nice to be back. My own view is that, as a country, the people are friendly, there are generally plenty of great places to eat offering good quality food at good value prices plus, if you want it, in the bigger cities there are all the shopping opportunities you need as well. Our last stop was the Maritime Academy on the riverfront, which had gorgeous architectural features. The riverfront itself provided gorgeous views across the city. From there it was only a short walk back to the car, and we headed home to Brollin.

All in all, an exciting day out and definitely a place I'll visit again!

I rolled into my new home around 17:30 local time after arriving at Pasewalk station. I was picked up by Peter, a local who works at the Schloss. It was a 10 minute drive to Bröllin, and Peter showed me to my room before taking me on a tour of the place. At this point, I had not slept in 28 hours and could no longer feel my feet. Peter tells me that there's a going-away party for him starting in ...
