We stayed in Heraklion, the largest city in Crete on the first night we arrived. We arrived so late we opted to stay in and order room service. Actually the food was good and the room was comfortable and nice so it was a good decision. ... were getting sprayed with tear gas. On the way home from the beach we accidentally rode through one of the areas where the demonstrators were and we got a pretty good dose of leftover tear gas. Anna was not happy about it. It's nasty stuff to say the least. But the next day all was calm and life resumed it's normalcy for downtown Athens.
