... closet somewhere, was found in 1738 to be weeping. A priest was called to verify the miracle, and an immense, ornate, overwhelming church was built. (Guidebooks say it is exuberant, colorful and joyful!). While worth seeing, and pausing for a few moments to light a candle for all our loved ones, the thirty minutes there was enough. Our stair-weary legs and feet were happy to head back to our hotel in Austria. We got out of the bus about 500 meters (1/3 ...

We had a great breakfast in a wonderful hotel (Alpchalet). We checked out at 8:40 to get to the ticket center for our castle tours. Our first tour of Hohenschangau was very impressive. It was the first castle we had toured that one could imagine living in and it had all the furnishings preserved. The walls were all decorated with paintings applied directly to the wall. The hike to the second ...

    Southern German Romantic Road

From Fussen north to Wurtzburg is what all call the German Romantic Road. It is thus because of the wealth, power, culture, architecture and art generated during medieval times and beyond. The road moves through Bavaria north into Baden Wurttemberg. We met several couples in our camps at night who came to Germany to visit only this.

The first huge thing to see is King Ludwigs Castle which is supposed to be the model ...
