... he only charged me 2260 yen. I think he felt bad for me/was embarrassed that he didn't get me there on time. It wasn't his fault. Bless that man. That gesture would NEVER happen in Vancouver. I sat for a bit outside Utsunomiya Station to gather myself. There was a train just after 5:00 pm, but I'd get to K's Hostel Mt. Fuji at 11:00 pm. I could stay the night, see the race track tomorrow, then go to Mt. Fuji. Except there are only buses to Motegi and can't find a ...

... 40 minutes from where we were staying. The drive out there was very pretty, as we passed a lot of open rice and vegetable fields and got to experience the smaller "suburb" areas of Japan. The only thing that could have made the drive better was if our silly little Nissan didn't have the Stop-Start function. You'd think you'd get used to it, but it really is just an annoying feature.

... br> We walked to the Hama-Rikyu Gardens, which is one of the oldest gardens in Tokyo. Unfortunately, we only had 45 minutes and we ended up in the wrong direction. We reached the designated boat pier directly instead of winding our way around the gardens. Oh well, maybe next time. We had been to the gardens a few years ago with Shigeki.

From the gardens, we took a one stop ride by boat and changed to another boat to Odaiba. ...

Going back to Oyama and seeing Alberto and his wonderful family was something we really looked forward to and the action was there!
We kicked off the night with one of Iracy's amazing dinner and left the next morning at 5am for a 24hours beach marathon. Drove 80km to get there and spent the whole day and night at the beach. It was so much fun, the water was warm, the sun shining, the heat intense.
Today we are just taking it easy with lots of siesta time and catching ...
