Well it didn't take long and we were once again in the Peugeot doing 130kph. The 630 km trip to Soulan in the Pyrenees would go quick at this pace, so would our coins. Those nasty toll machines seemed to be getting more greedy by the kilometer.
These next couple of nights hadn't been pre-booked, so the planned (or not so planned) intention was to "wing" it.

On arrival at the skiing resort town of Saint- Larry Soulan we were having ...

17.45hrs. Long journey from Lourdes some 290 miles. Crossed the border to Spain. Sad to leave France but excited at the same time to explore northern Spain. Driving through the Pyrenees was mind blowing. Ive never seen such greenery and surrounded by so many mountains and trees. Miles and miles of the most spectacular scenery. So off we went out of town and it started off nice and serene. I was number two in the pack behind Roger, Phil behind me, followed by his bud Greg and then the southern triad, and our ...

... it had some good hikes and views as it was located in the Spanish Pyrenees (Pirineos in Spanish). The views from our hotel were a very good start.

We completed two hikes in the national park and the views were nothing short of breathtaking (if you remember my Lord of the Rings comment at the beginning, then you are getting the picture – or just look at the photos attached to the blog).

        • Our first hike took us around the southern ridge of the ...

My misconceived idea that if we went up through the mountains along the Pyrenees that it would be cooler. Today is the hottest day we have encountered so far. I don't know how hot as I have no wifi or reception but I'm guessing 35 to 40 degrees. We left Pamplona and it was cool and pleasant but instead of taking Kerry through to Zaragoza I instead chose to go up through the mountains to ...
