Up at 5am (I now cannot sleep beyond 5am as we have had so many early starts!)
We caught the 6am bus up to Machu Picchu. The group were very excited in a sort of hushed ONG kind of way.

Having said goodbye to the hot jungle, it was a bit of a shock to land after a 30 minute flight in Cusco high in the Andes. It is 3200 metres above sea level, and as we got off the plane, it was immediately noticeably cold. A very strange experience going from one extreme to another in 30 minutes.
