An early 0615 start and another french breakfast. No more croissants!!! Stopped for lunch at a medieval town called Carassone. It had a wall right round it, complete with little spaces for bow and arrow snipers. Had a lunch of crepes - beautiful. Different to Aussie crepes. And just arrived in spain. Such an interesting looking country. Little soccer fields dotted everywhere between spanish (believe it or not) looking houses. Weather dramatically warmer. Going to a buffet spanish dinner and f...
Barcelona, Spain binniI love Barcelona!! It´s so sunny and warm and buzzy and friendly! There´s street musicans everywhere. Last night´s dinner and Flamanco dance was pretty fantastic. So much passion and emotion. Now that´s what I call a show! Found out Ray, the 80 year old is a Salvationist from Melbourne. This morning, we went out for a tour of the city. saw the port, the olympic site, cathedrals etc. Saw some Gaudi buildings which were really creative and interesting. Gaudi paid extra attention to the tops of ...
Barcelona, Spain binniEvery so often in a long trip you're bound to have someone get sick, especially when you are travelling with children. For us, it came today. Maggie came down with some sort of stomach bug and was up all night losing fluid at both ends, poor thing. Of course, such events are sure to happen at the worst possible time - Murphy's Law. Today we start a complicated return to our own part of the world, with a flight from Porto to Barcelona, then connecting tomorrow with a flight to Singapore which ...

... the festival. There are constant parades and stages set up in plazas all over town for concerts. We got to see part of a concert after dinner. It was a funky Spanish band playing to a group of a couple thousand people packed into a square by the big cathedral.<br><br>Today (day after beach day), we went to the Eixample district. It’s an area of Barcelona that is mostly modernisme. “Wide sidewalks, hardy shade trees, chic shops, and plenty of Art Nouveau fun make the ...

They were sooo friendly and welcoming and after I told them all the Spanish words that Munira had been teaching me, they were very impressed and many times wouldn't stop laughing! :P after hanging out at a local bar till 2:00 am, it was finally time to go to the club: "costa breve"<br><br> <br><br> <br><br> <br> <br>The club was pretty happening at 2:30 when we ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands ramsey_a... are, if I´m on the street I´ve got somewhere to go. I think it is silly that people will judge you if you don´t smile or make eye contact or say hi when you pass. I loathe making conversation just for the hell of starting a dialogue. I like being left alone and yet I find that if I stop and ask for directions Catalan people are still helpful. There´s no unnecessary yakking. I tried the chocolate Hippos today for the first time and I completely understand what all the hype ...
Barcelona, Spain mebecherie... that I am, I taught her a list of slang terms that she could take back home that will earn her immediate street cred on the rough streets of Switzerland. Barcelona, Spain tonyinseattle... photos, to the e-mails, as long as I live, I will always cherish these precious memories of these precious people. They helped me, they changed me, they saved me. I will never forget them. I can't ever forget them. They are me, and I am them. They are my existence, and I am theirs. The Aussies, the Germans, the Brits, the Spaniards, the Americans, the Japanese...and everyone else. I love them, I truly do. It's like that, I can't explain, it exists as it does. C'est comme ca, et ca c'est tout.

Barcelona, Spain sharonita... Americans, and ofcourse, more Aussies. At the tequila bar everyone gave me their shot tickets claiming that they had gotten sick off tequila once too often. Well, its never been poison to me so I said why not? Then we went to a dancing type club where I danced until my feet hurt. When we got home Skye and I got into our heads that it would be a good time to do laundry. After all the machines were finally not being used but then, who would be doing laundry at 2am. I ...
