... Van Gogh museum was interesting, it showed a lot of his art that never became famous. It also went through his life story and talked about all of his life struggles that led up to him finally shooting himself. The museum included art from different artists that inspired Van Gogh and those who were inspired by him. It was cool to hear the hidden story behind such a tragic soul.

... amused as we have never come across anyone moving someone else’s boat before. They were not amused with by us being in their slot but it had not been for long. Once we moved ST John went to speak to the hafenmeister but she had gone! Very short hours! We will speak tomorrow.

... the current movie "The Monuments Men." It is a grand altar piece painted by Jan Van Eyck and his father in 1432. There are many panels filled with incredible detail and color. Ghent is a medieval town at its center which lies at the confluence of two rivers. It has wonderful old buildings and is quite photogenic - really worth a stop along our way. Tonight we are in Bruges, a smaller medieval town. Tomorrow we are renting a car to drive about the countryside and visit Flanders Fields. ...

The parking places in Belgium are very sophisticated and they have green or red lights above the spaces to show whether they are free or not and each space has a number and each floor/area has a colour and an animal. So I was in green, rabbit 2.28. What a clever way to ensure people will remember at least one of those markers.
