... No buses on this route. After an 1.5 hrs without giving an indication for a hitch a driver stopped, the 3rd car to pass me in this time. So I got my ride to the town where I could catch public transport to Bastia and a ferry ticket to mainland France.

... also to drive us to the bus (a 45 minute walk, without packs!). i'm telling you, those two saved us so much time and agony over those two days - i just couldn't thank them enough. they gave me their email address and told us that if we're ever in Normandy to definitly drop by for a night or two. I don't know when I'll make it up there, but it's nice to receive an offer like that!
