Another decent night at Collioure, dry and warm. Then a drive around and a look-see! Found the route to the fort on the cliff and one could stopover there, gratuit. Drove around a little and found one could also park at the 'gare' dans la centre Ville de Collioure, so we will, later after shopping and ...

... may be similar but the suffering wasn’t. Was the glory the same, the pride, the sense of achievement? You bet! A Haute Route is an achievement for anyone and it isn’t just the event but also the journey. The hours on the bike, the kilometres on the odometer, the lonely early mornings and the camaraderie of group rides. The fear and anticipation leading to the excitement of the event and emotion of finishing, of ...

Our last day and what a cracker. Port Vendres in France was the most gorgeous village with little alley ways winding all through the houses, shops and cafes. Apart from the ship where the wifi isn't worth buying as its SO slow - everywhere has wifi. The cafes all have it, tjere are 'hot spots' around the squares and public ...

... bonus was the balcony which looked out to the nearby hills, with one of the forts perched at the end. We were being a bit fussier about our accomodation because it was our 'home' for three nights. We have stayed in a lot of apartments and usually carefully check the features available, but the one we initially chose wasn't available because there was no cleaner or caretaker to let us in, which is the only disadvantage of choosing apartments as ...

... pot of peoples, much more than we see in the US. Fortunately for us, English is the most spoken language after Catalan and Spanish. Here come the Dutch, the Germans, Swedes, Poles, British, Irish, French Canadians and etc. They speak English, because they don't speak Catalan. So we can converse, find out about them and share travel tips. In they past three days we have seen the beauty of some our worlds great minds. Gaudi , Picasso, ...
