... form, and the nut man. Even being full, we couldn't pass up the nut man. Imagine every kind of nut coasted in many kinds of goodness. We couldn't even choose, went for the mixed bag. The nutella coated hazelnuts, white cherry chocolate coated walnuts, and the caramelized cashews ranked up there for me. Sorry to say, the liebkuchen just didn't do it for us.

The last pictures are somewhat unrelated, except our mystery came to a ...

Scenic Routes

... work out.) We'd already been downtown three times. We've got the bus and train down for that route. Discoveries? Koenigstrasse is prime for people watching and eating doners (sort of like a Turkish gyro). The alte schloss (old castle) might have a cool museum with nice displays, but when you don't speak the language, museum trips are pretty quick. Also, vorsicht stuffen does not mean closed. We stared at that one for awhile before a German ...

Opa's birthday

We attended a big birthday party this weekend in Stuttgart. It was my boyfriend's grandfather's (Opa, as I now know him) 80th birthday. We celebrated with the entire family in a nice little restaurant in a small town near Stuttgart. I have no idea the name of either of those places.

We had some free time to explore Stuttgart on Saturday morning so we went to the Wilhelma Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It is a massive ...

Half-day stopover

Caught a night train from Vienna and arrived in Stuttgardt in the morning. Had a great day wandering and seeing the sights. Yet another map from yet another tourist info place. More statues and old buildings (Boring right? Not by a long shot). Still walking around wide-eyed like kids at Disneyland.

Room Keys

... there sometime. She checked up on me, I guess Anita must have told her how I was feeling. She assured me it's totally normal to feel this way and that she went through the same thing when she studied abroad in the US. She speaks English really well, sometimes I can't even detect an accent. She uses slang like "somethin' " and "anythin' " and it sounds like she's been speaking it all her life. It's pretty cool. I got a letter from Kayla and another from Grandma ...

Initial doubt turns to affection!

After departing Paris, I settled in for my 6 hour trip to Heidelberg, Gemany. The train ride was quite comfortable, and I had a good time until we reached Mannheim, where I was to change for Heidelberg. The platforms were very confusing and I had no idea where to go to get my connection (I had just got the hang of French and now had to adept to German!). With 5 minutes until the arrival of my train, I decided to go look for help in ...
