Having said a sad farewell to Jules, Mark and Erin, we left the Amalfi and Sorrento coast and headed back up through Italy to spend a couple of nights in Tuscany in an old Villa hotel called Casa Volpi, en route to the Dolomites. The weather has been kind to us again and we had a nice day exploring Arezzo town, on our only full day here before heading north into the ...

Supposedly Cole Porter was inspired to write Night and Day while there. We then drive hrough the mountains and then Umbria for another two hours to ...

They were built during the middle ages as defensive structures due to the constant small time warfare and raiding. So, this massive Roman Empire is reduced to sibling squabbling. But there are attractive sights left for us.

In Orvieto, the church is rated by some as the most beautiful ...

That three week tour has gone quickly and this morning our group started going their separate ways, with most staying in Rome for one more day. The three week trip only covered 2.000km by vehicle but covered so much history, variety, beauty, not to mention walking. Ron and Jan collected me at 9:15 and we headed off to Castiglione del Lago on Lago Trasimeno in Umbria for four nights of doing not too much at all before ...
