... to add some gluten free flour. I took the job of kneeding, whilst Emma continued with the photo journalism! Then it was time for the fun bit, rolling into the gnochi logs and then cutting and shaping. We both had a go at this, and Emma was definitely the winner! But I think I'd put that down to something that I haven't mentioned yet - the local wine! Il Fontanarra also make their own wine, and we had been quite liberally dosed with it since arriving for the class! As Emma has ...

... had got so late by then we had to check it was cooked with a head torch! We are now sat outside n the dark, citronella candle burning, listening to tonight’s entertainment outside the bar; an Italian singer who sings well known classic songs….in Italian, and also plays the trumpet. We came back from the bike ride and Lyn BBQd. We sat around our citronella candle chatting, then bed, this time with Tegz safely in her tent. Tour of Tuscany tomorrow! Can’t ...

The route took us on the Autostrad all the way down, straight down from the Alps to Genoa cutting through the tops of the Tuscan hills. Just as we thought we were finished with tunnels we were dropping right down to the coast where the steep mountains hit the sea and Italian towns blossom in the gaps in between. The A12 twists and turns, climbs through tunnels and just goes on forever. The tunnels, traffic and Italian driving was a huge test ...
