Journey to Interlaken
... we are in first class today, with large windows that curve up onto the ceiling so we get panoramic views of the mountains and villages we pass. The train wound through the valleys at first, passing village after village that looked like fairy tales. After a while Lisa and I realised that the whole country essentially looks like a ski resort. There are wooden homes with slanted roofs and little carvings on the roof peaks. A lot of the ...

On the bus trip a few games were introduced to keep us entertained along with a introduction from everyone. We had to say what we do, whether we were red, green or a yellow light, our obsession and who we would mud wrestle. Excellent time wasters they were, extremely entertaining. On top of that when we went looking for the grocery store and found out they closed at 5pm (on a Saturday!). Hopefully tomorrow will bring a different light of Lauterbrunnen to ...
Turkey Day in the Alps Mate!!
I got to celebrate Thanksgiving in Interlaken, Switzerland! Unfortunately, our plane was delayed and we did not get into our hostel, Balmers, until Friday late night. However, on Friday we were able to have a proper Turkey Dinner as the hostel spent all day preparing a meal for us! As I LOVE the mountains, and hiking I made it a goal to climb to the top of the Alps with whoever dared join me. It started out with 8 of us on our journey ...
