... through the jungle before dumping into the sea. Some of the downstream villages undoubtedly depend on this river exclusively for their drinking, cooking and cleaning needs. I will go out on a limb here and say that it is unlikely that any of the $40,000 dollars this orphanage collects each day from ticket sales makes its way to the villagers to clean up the water supply that their orphanage destroys. Let that be the end of my public service announcement.

Sadly do to it being very cold and very wet we left the next morning, we did enjoy having a whole day to wonder around and had an amazing lunch at an indian restaurant and a ABC beer thats one of my fav so far unfortuantly you can only get it in that town it seems no one else has even heard of it

... Saman. The murals here are beautiful and cover both the walls and the ceilings of the cave. The Buddha statue hewn out of the rock on the left side of the room is flanked by wooden figures of the Bodhisattvas (enlightened beings who forgo nirvana to save suffering beings). There is also a mini dagoba and a spring which drips water from a crack in the ceiling into a huge pot.

The third cave- Maha Alut Vihara has many paintings on the ceilings and ...

During another check up by the doctor and a chat with her mother who had stayed for two years at the embassy in Bonn once upon a time and was glad to practice her German on me, I kept wondering why my hair kept dripping down my neck. ... nice of him. It was so funny as loads of really smart businessmen were scrambling on, pushing and shoving their way into seats. So as soon as we sat down the deaf guy, as expected, pulled out an I'D card saying he was deaf and asked for money - what a surprise! After that nice man helping us earlier we thought we had found another guy just being nice, but no, they will find any way to get money out of you! We didn't give him any though!
