I have just come back from barcelona..my favourite city ever! I was there as part of my erasmus placement and im so pleased I chose Barcelona to spend it. I worked for 5 months in an internship but finished at 4pm everyday and had so much time to enjoy the city.
I came in the summer..summer in barcelona is amazing, its so hot, there are festivals and fiestas all the time..and of course the BEACH! I loved ...
... would be so much easier. Anyways luckily there was a train in that station that was going to barcelona and we would be able to get on it. So we do after waiting for a few hours. But wait rewind! If any of you know me well enough you know that i have a SMALL BLADDER so i had to go to the bathroom. Never again will i pee where i did! Literally a whole in the ground with a place you can ...
Barcelona, Spain erinbobarin... First of all, practically no two toilets flush with the same time of mechanism, so you always have to figure that out. Then, you may or may not have toilet paper, so you´ve gotta pack your own. -There are people EVERYWHERE. Some of you reading this blog would have a problem with the sheer number of people on the streets, and honestly a few years ago I would have had a hard timne with this many crowds, but now it´s all good for me! Everyone´s ...
Barcelona, Spain eurorich... to stay one night and two days in BCN to my dismay! I liked and enjoyed BCN much better than Madrid. The energy was great and it is much prettier. There are many tourists in the main part of it (i forgot its name). I did not have a hotel reservation so I walked around and found a hostel for about 32 euros, which I thought was a bargain! It was small but that is all I needed. I walked around and saw many of the sights, had a nice dinner and people watched. In the morning of the ...
Barcelona, Spain estebanito... implied "idiot, you should know cars don't go there''. €6,00 later I was standing outside the subway exit with a four block walk ahead through the Gothic district. It was here, in the Gothic District, that I saw the nightlife that was only hinted at on Ibiza Island. Tonnes of restaurants, bars and all sorts of shops lined the small pedestrian only streets and all just starting to get busy around ten at night ...
Barcelona, Spain jay29... They were Finnish and had the blondest hair you´ve ever seen. Both spoke good English; Sara (but pronounced like Czar-a) better than Elissa. Someone had been in the bar passing out leaflets for a pub crawl and they´d taken one. The itinerary showed they´d be going all around town and Mike & I thought that sounded like the perfect way to acquaint ourselves with the city. But the girls were tired and begged off promising to go out with us the next night. The pub crawl went to 5 ...
Barcelona, Spain danschedler... squ*re where we expected to find the pl*ce. We circled the block. We circled *nother block. We p*ssed * group of homeless men getting fed some soup *nd I beg*n to reconsider the (grimey) *re* I h*d chosen to st*y in. In my desper*tion I went into * shop *nd *sked in my best immit*tion of French how to get to this pl*ce I pointed to in the guidebook. The guy sort of sighed *nd grim*ced, like this w*s going to be h*rd to expl*in, *nd st*rted us off on wh*t would ...
Barcelona, Spain mattadorseriously, i've seen some of the smallest people ever in Spain. i feel like a giant. it's not everyone, but there is a significant portion of the population who are about 4 feet tall. got in late last night and went out with a friend studying abroad here... unaware that we walked in to the American study abroad club. good to see Americans can find each other everywhere around the globe and continue to ...
Barcelona, Spain reecepacheco... too, can zip through immigration! I travelled from Gatwick to Barcelona on one of Europe's discount airlines, Easyjet, and was reminded of my experience trying to go see Star Wars 3 when it opened. As with Star Wars, I had to line up at an ungodly early hour in order to be well-placed for the mad rush for good seats on the plane. Barcelona reminds me of Vienna -- grand, stately and beautiful. I felt quite at home, perhaps because I spent nine weeks ...
Barcelona, Spain dr._livingstone... shot protested the mother said "Why don't you buy a postcard". How thick can you get? An how selfish. After she'd gone it took no longer to photograph it with no-one there than if yet another person had joined the parade and stood in front. We also took a bus out to the building site of La Sagrada Famille. What a fantastic building - I just love it. Shame they've squandered all that fab architecture on a church ...
